Fast and secure logon options to meet your needs

Choose a logon option

Your logon method matters.

Scammers are getting smarter every day, and traditional passwords aren’t secure enough.

That’s why we encourage members to use the strongest authentication options we provide: multifactor authentication.
Multifactor Authentication

This security feature adds an extra layer of protection to your logon and reduces the risk of fraud. You identify yourself with a combination of things unique to you:

  • Something you know, like your PIN
  • Something you have, like a one-time code
  • Something you are, like your fingerprint or face

Available logon options

Quick Logon

In the mobile app you can log on with just your PIN. We generate a one-time security code that gets automatically added to your PIN each time you log on.‍ ‍ See note 1

Biometrics

In the mobile app, depending on the type of device you have, you can use your face ID or fingerprint to log on. Learn about biometric logons.

Browser Recognition

On a trusted device, you only need to enter your password or PIN. When you use a browser we don’t recognize, we'll prompt you with an extra security measure.

CyberCode™ Text or CyberCode Token

Using either of these options provides an extra layer of security when you log on.
  • CyberCode Text replaces your PIN with a six-digit number sent to your mobile device. You log on with your Online ID and password as usual, but instead of entering a PIN, you'll enter the number received by text message.‍ ‍ See note 2
  • A CyberCode token generates a unique security code every 30 seconds through the Symantec VIP app. You’ll add this security code to the end of your PIN each time you log on.

Creating strong passwords

Even with the extra security provided by these logon options, you still want to have a strong password. Hacking or guessing your password is one of the most basic tactics a cybercriminal will use to gain access to your accounts.

Here are some tips for your passwords:

  • Create different passwords for different websites.
  • Change your passwords every few months.
  • Don't write your password where others can see it.
  • Don't include your name or words from the dictionary.
